Waldshut-Tiengen – Success through entrepreneurial vision: The VISCO JET Rührsysteme GmbH was awarded on June 26 at the German SME Summit in Essen as one of the most innovative companies in Germany’s SME sector. “Top 100″ -Mentor Ranga Yogeshwar honors the Baden company, by awarding the “Top 100″ seal. Earlier, VISCO JET had undergone a two-stage scientific analysis methods.
Especially in the categories “innovation success” and “innovation philosophy” VISCO JET Rührsysteme GmbH showed very good results during this innovation competition. Regularly the southern Baden company brings up innovation in the field of mixing technology: “We know that it does not depend on the speed of stirring to obtain the best results, but the shape of the agitator,” says the owner and Managing Director Timo Weber. His company has developed geometric shapes, which make it possible to stir a variety of media, such as chocolate, lipstick color or pharmaceuticals at very low speeds. The company from Waldshut-Tiengen is the only manufacturer to use a self-developed agitator.
Thanks to its good internal climate of innovation the Black Forest company has developed its innovative strength: In order to structure the ideas and encourage the 24 employees to submit proposals, the family business established so-called “activities-funnel“. With them, the innovation processes are divided into different departments and in different areas of responsibility – from sales and engineering to safety and for order processing. This can be product improvements, but also process innovations. For each idea an approximate budget, a time frame, major task and a responsible person is defined. Every idea has its mentor, and usually this is the employee who introduced the proposal. Timo Weber again sees itself as a mentor to the entire idea management.
“Our good ideas and their rapid implementation are a key competitive factor for us,” explains CEO Timo Weber. “That’s why we invest a lot of time and effort in our innovation management. We rely on the creativity of all our employees. They deserve my thanks for the achievement of the, Top 100 ‘award.“
Basis for the award of the “Top 100” seal is a two-step analysis developed by the Chairman of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team. The scientists are investigating the innovation management and innovation success of SMEs on the basis of more than 100 parameters in five categories. Who is ultimately awarded the “Top 100” seal , decides the scientific management alone.
This year Franke and his team have as many applications as yet been checked: From 302 qualifiers 234 companies made it to the final. 178 of them received the award in three size classes (maximum of 100 companies per size class). The framework for the award is based on German SME Summit in Essen.
